A documentary following actor Stephen Tompkinson on the journey of a lifetime has been post produced by blue, the UK Broadcast arm of the Prime Focus Group. The Wild at Heart star gives the viewer a tour of Africa and its amazing wildlife as he undertakes a hot air balloon expedition across the continent for Stephen Tompkinson’s African Balloon Adventure, a three-part series which begins on Sunday 7th June at 8pm on ITV1. |

blue, a Prime Focus Company, have been honoured for their contribution to two award winning projects at the 2009 FOCAL International Awards, which celebrates the use of footage archive images in the creative media. The restoration of Kinora reels from circa 1911 for The R&A and IMG Media Archive collected the award for Archive Restoration or Preservation Project, beating stiff competition from the BFI, who were nominated for the restoration of the David Lean collection of feature films. Also among the winners was the intro film for Jay-Z’s headline set at last year’s Glastonbury Festival, which was produced by Princess Productions and post-produced by blue. This film picked up the Best Use of Footage in a Short Production award. blue would like to congratulate all involved with these two outstanding projects. |

blue has invested over £500,000 in new facilities to expand its broadcast post production and VFX capabilities after winning major new projects. The facility has invested significantly in CG seats for broadcast visual effects, a Baselight digital grading system and eight new high-end cutting rooms. It has also upgraded its 3 Autodesk Smoke editing and finishing systems and is building a new 5.1 sound studio which will open this summer. |

blue has completed post production on a new series for The Discovery Channel called Who Was Jesus? The three part drama-documentary was made by Renegade Pictures and will be broadcast on The Discovery Channel in the US on Sunday 5th April from 8pm. |
